Transport

Do you need to go somewhere and would like someone to drive you there?

Please call our helpline between 9am and 1pm any day of the year.

You will be asked for your name, address, a contact number and where and when you need to go. Please try to provide 2 weeks' notice and as much relevant information as you can, e.g. if you are a blue badge holder, a wheelchair user etc.

"It saves me worrying when I know the volunteer will wait and bring me home too."

Where could a volunteer take me?

The doctor, dentist, or other medical appointments

The hairdresser, post office, bank or other services

A support group or day care centre

“When my husband went to hospital, I didn’t know how I was going to be able to visit him. A lovely lady from Good Neighbours took me and they arranged for another lady to pick me up when visiting hours were over.”

Relatives in hospital or care

The shops or the supermarket

Family and friends

Please note

All our volunteer drivers are required to have an enhanced DBS certificate. They use their own cars and are covered by their insurance. They can accompany you or wait for you as arranged.  Please provide us with as much information as possible, e.g. how long your visit or appointment is likely to take.

There is no 'charge' for transport, however a donation to the charity will be gratefully received.
